ABOUT INGELA

Ingela Hoerler’s breadth of experience has made her an excellent and well qualified trainer for a wide array of horses and riders.  Her education as a rider began in early childhood, allowing for an exposure to, and deep understanding of many equine breeds, riding disciplines and training techniques.  Ingela’s discipline and success in the show ring has always been matched by a warm appreciation for recreational horsemanship and the value of human-equine bonds.  Her upbringing in 4-H inspired her to create and lead her own Snohomish County group for the past 10 years, which has only added to her exceptional innate skills with young riders. Her dedicated, friendly and technically excellent teaching style is evident in the loyalty of her students, many of whom have followed her between facilities for over a decade. Both in the saddle and as an instructor, Ingela’s ability to challenge a horse or rider is wonderfully balanced by her intuitive sense of compassion and safety. Her extensive knowledge and warm demeanor is extended to her students who can trust that they will receive a thorough education in the universal fundamentals of riding. Ingela enjoys helping competitive riders meet their goals, as well as giving those who ride for pleasure, a fun and relaxed atmosphere in which to learn at their own pace. Any horse under saddle with Ingela will be worked with skill and careful consideration of their individual mind, talents and conformation. Ingela currently teaches both English and Western disciplines to beginners and seasoned showmen from young children to mature adults.

ABOUT JENNIFER

A resume of diverse experience in many equestrian fields has given Jennifer Maddox a unique appreciation for the value of riding.  A horsewoman since age 5, Jennifer has known the rewards of horse-rider partnerships in English, Western, A-Circuit hunter-jumper, and level-2 Dressage competitions.  From assisting in the breeding of Shagya Arabians to the exercising and rehabilitation of Thoroughbred race horses, Jennifer’s work has afforded her a high level of skill and sincere appreciation that pertains to all equine breeds and disciplines.  By virtue of having started and re-trained many challenging horses, she has developed a strong work ethic and philosophy of patience toward both horses and riders of all disciplines.  This is instantly evident in her respectful and attentive teaching style that optimizes the learning experience for young and adult riders alike. Additionally, Jenn’s background as an instructor and judge for 4-H and pony club inspired the establishment of Jenik Farm, where she, as owner and trainer, shared her passion for fulfilling the potential of horses and riders in a safe, effective and enjoyable manner.  Her respect for the equine as an athlete was cemented by her 6 years of assistance to a small and large animal veterinarian, part of which included exposure to surgical practices.  Throughout her career, Jennifer has been able to share her knowledge in an array of environments from professional race tracks to show barns and the equestrian program at Colorado State University.  Flicka Farm is pleased to offer the benefit of Jennifer’s expertise at our facility, and looks forward to the positive impact she will have on our riders and horses of every age and stage.
